Once you have decided what you want me to paint and your canvas size and we have agreed a price I will tell you when I can start your painting and roughly how long it will take.
At this stage I will need 25% deposit and the remainder of the balance is paid upon completion.
Prices are for a quality bespoke original oil painting using the finest oil paints on a branded canvas.
Pet Portraits
Below is the price list for a Pet Portrait. This will cover a pet portrait with one animal and a plain background. Of course, if you’d like a more detailed background this can be done. For a more detailed background, add 25% on to the price below.
If you have more than one pet and would like more than just one in the portrait then this is no problem. Simply add 50% on to the price in the list below for the canvas size you’d like.
As an example, the picture below shows two animals on canvas size 16″x16″ with a plain background. So the price for this is £500 +50 % for 1 extra animal = £750.
Landscape & Seascapes
Prices below are a guide based on a picture with average detail. The more detail in the picture, the longer it takes resulting in being more expensive. As soon as I see your chosen picture I will fix a price. Rest assured, no matter if it takes longer than I predicted, I won’t charge a penny more than agreed.
Townscapes & Very Detailed Paintings
Sometimes people don’t realise how long these kind of detailed pictures take to paint on average for a 16″x12″ with this level of detail, which is almost like technical drawing but in oils. It typically takes well over 200 hours to complete.
This is one of the most detailed and technical pictures you can come across, taking well over 500 hours to complete. The oil paint is all flat on the canvas except all the lights and the water, which are painted with spikes of oil paint protruding from the canvas. When you put a spotlight above the painting, it hits the spikes creating an effect of real lights in the picture. The original has to be seen to truly appreciate the effect.
